Tourist crushed to death in Torremolinos
The man was visiting Malaga with family when he was pinned between a wall and a car

A 36-year-old Dutch tourist died in front of his wife and young children on Wednesday July 26 when he was pinned between his own car and a barrier wall in the Malaga resort of Torremolinos.
It’s understood that the family was spending the day in La Carihuela with friends and that the tragic accident occurred in a car park. According to witnesses, the victim failed to pull up the handbrake and was trapped against a barrier by the moving vehicle. However, a National Police investigation has been opened to determine to exact cause of the tragedy.
The Dutch man and his family were staying in a villa in the municipality of Ojén and arrived in the fateful car park at around 4.30pm. Staff from the Hotel Amaragua, right across the street, watched the entire scene unfold and rushed over to comfort the family.
"The ambulance arrived, but we couldn't do anything," the hotel manager said. The tourist was pronounced dead at the scene.
That very same day another man died in a traffic accident on the A-7 in Vélez-Málaga.
At kilometre 965, two trucks collided, one of which was carrying heavy machinery. Several other motorists phoned the emergency service shortly after 6am to report the rear-end collision.
One of the drivers was still inside the lorry when paramedics arrived but nothing could be done to save his life.
