ARCHIVED - Travel from Andalucia to Madrid on the cheap with new rail connections beginning in June
Low cost, high-speed tickets from Seville and Malaga to the capital of Spain will go on sale on April 12
Spanish rail operator Renfe has announced the official launch of its exciting new connection between two major Andalucía cities and Madrid from June 1. The high-speed, low cost Avlo service will initially run between Seville, Malaga and the capital city with two trips each way per day.
Tickets go on sale on April 12 for the services that will leave Andalucía early in the morning and return from Madrid in the afternoon. All of the Avlo trains will stop at Renfe’s intermediate stations – Antequera Santa Ana, Puente Genil, Córdoba, Villanueva de Córdoba, Puertollano and Ciudad Real.
In all, the new routes will offer 436 seats plus another two specifically designed for people with limited mobility.
The company, which has recently lowered prices on several of its services to compete with rail operators Iryo and Ouigo, claims that Avlo trains have "competitive travel times" and that "they are marketed at affordable prices in order to facilitate and increase mobility at all stations along the route."
