ARCHIVED - Two Andalusian provinces in medium-risk category: Covid update October 29
The provinces with the highest rate are Huelva, with 57.7, and Almería, with 56.6
The cumulative incidence rate of Covid-19 in Andalucía as a whole stands at 33.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, creeping up a few tenths of a point day by day, but only two provinces are above the 50-case threshold to stand in the medium-risk category.
New cases are also up, with 338 new infections diagnosed today and 270 yesterday.
New infections
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Andalucía, 808,372 cases have been recorded, 1,357 in the last week. Thankfully, there is currently no significant presence of the Delta Plus variant in Andalucía.
Cumulative incidence rate
Wednesday’s incidence rate rose by 1.2 points compared to Tuesday, while on Thursday and Friday it has risen four tenths and three tenths of a point, respectively. The province with the highest rate is Huelva, with 57.7, which has overtaken Almería, which stands at 56.6, while the lowest rate is still Cádiz, with 18.9.
In the province of Málaga, the incidence rate is 43; in Córdoba, 35.7; in Jaén 33.5; in Granada, 28.9; and in Seville 22.
Hospitalisations
Hospitalisations are still falling, with 61 people hospitalised since this time last week, taking the grand total to 56,717. The number of people in the ICU stands at 6,215, up 6 from last week.
Fatalities
Six more people died of coronavirus in Andalucía this week, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 11,336.
Recoveries
The number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the region is 795,101, of which 175 were in the last 24 hours.
Vaccines
With regard to the Covid-19 vaccination, at least 90% of the target population has now been double jabbed. However, more than 560,000 Andalusians over the age of 12 have not started the vaccination process.
In Andalucía, 33% of the target population has already been vaccinated for flu, while at the end of last year’s campaign 67% had been vaccinated. This means that half of Andalusians have already been vaccinated against the flu.
