ARCHIVED - Two earthquakes in Malaga in early hours of Friday morning
Minor earthquakes are a regular occurrence in southern Andalusia due to the region’s proximity to the line where the Eurasian and African tectonic plates meet.

An earthquake registering 3.4 on the Richter scale with epicentre in Antequera, Málaga, was felt in various parts of Malaga province and even as far away as Córdoba city, the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has reported.
The quake happened at 4.25 am with its epicentre located nine kilometres underground, and made its presence known in Antequera, Archidona, Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga city, Villanueva del Rosario and Córdoba city, but caused no material or physical damage according to 112 Emergency Services.
Another smaller quake of magnitude 2.2 was also recorded 20 minutes later in Villanueva del Rosario, according to IGN data.
