Until December 8 Annual fiestas in honour of La Purísima in Mazarron

Musical events, guided tours and hikes and a procession of the patron of the town are the highlights in the Mazarrón fiestas program

The program of events this year related to the celebration of the annual Fiestas Patronales in Mazarrón, dedicated to the Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción or “La Purísima”, is a wide-ranging and complete one and includes the following:

Friday November 29

17.00: The fairground opens outside the Guardia Civil headquarters with rides at 2 for the price of 1.

20.15: The official opening speech of the fiestas by Antonio Balanza González at the Centro Parroquial de Mazarrón.

22.00: The official opening of the exhibition “Antología, Ramón Gaya (1910-2005)” at the CIME building of the Universidad Popular.

Saturday November 30

The fiestas tapas route begins (lasting until December 8).

9.00: The 19th annual falconry championship begins at the Casa Colorada in Leiva.

11.30: Games and workshops for children in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

12.00: Guided tour of the exhibition “SAGRADOS. Historia de un templo” at the Casino – click here for further details.

18.00: The day fair opens with music in the municipal marquee.

22.00: A gala to elect the Fiestas Queen at the Pabellón de Deportes “La Aceña”. Admission free of charge.

Sunday December 1

8.00: The start of the annual "Memorial Domingo Valdivieso" open air painting competition – click here for further details.

11.00: A float parade starts in the Jardín de la Paz.

Wednesday December 4

17.00: A procession to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the sculpted figure of La Purísima being delivered to in Mazarrón (from “El Pilón” to her Sanctuary). Click here for further details.

Thursday December 5

17.00: Children’s Day at the fairground, rides at 2 of the price of 1.

18.00: The day fair opens with music in the municipal marquee.

22.00: The 2nd Superlatino festival at the Pabellón de Deportes “La Aceña”. Tickets 10 euros, available online here.

Friday December 6

9.00: Petanca tournament at the pistes in Mazarrón.

9.30: Tribute is paid to the people from Mazarrón who lost their lives in the concentration camp of Mauthausen. Venue: Jardín de la Paz.

10.00: An official act of homage to the Spanish Constitution in Avenida Constitución.

12.00: The fairground opens outside the Guardia Civil headquarters

12.00: “Por Ellos” charity walk to raise funds for APROAMA starting at the municipal marquee.

17.00: The day fair opens with music in the municipal marquee.

22.00: Retro 80s pop at the Pabellón de Deportes “La Aceña”.

Saturday December 7

9.30 to 13.30: Offerings to La Purísima at the Santuario de La Purísima.

10.00: Padel and tennis tournaments at the Club de Tenis de Mazarrón to raise funds for the Diabetes Society of Cartagena and the south of Murcia.

13.00: The 6^th annual Almazarock event at the municipal marquee.

16.30: ENCANTO, a children’s musical at the Pabellón de Deportes. Admission free of charge.

17.00: Day fair with live music and DJs at the municipal marquee.

18.00: Holy Mass at the Santuario de La Purísima.

19.00: The procession of the figure of La Purísima, starting at the Santuario de La Purísima.

23.00: Fireworks to signal the end of the 2024 fiestas!
