ARCHIVED - Violent influencer tried for killing his girlfriend in Sweden is arrested over a stabbing in Malaga

A popular influencer in Sweden who was jailed but later released for the murder of his girlfriend, who was found dead in a bathtub, has been arrested following the near-fatal stabbing of a man in Estepona, Spain last month.
The 27-year-old allegedly stabbed the man, 36, in the throat, two centimetres from the aorta artery almost killing him on May 16.
According to the Police, the detainee had met his victim in a hotel car park to discuss a debt. But things turned violent when the influencer reportedly pulled a knife on his victim and stabbed him in the neck before jabbing the blade a second time. The injured man was able to stop the knife with his forearm, sustaining a 20cm wound.
The alleged attacker fled the scene and the victim, who had lost a lot of blood, was stabilised by paramedics and rushed to a hospital in Marbella where he underwent emergency surgery.
Police carried out an extensive search and found the knife discarded in a nearby bush.
A manhunt was immediately launched for the suspect, who was tried for the murder of his girlfriend, found dead in the bathtub under "strange circumstances", and jailed for two years in Sweden before being released after the judicial authority ruled "the facts could not be accredited".
He consequently moved to Spain at least a year ago and after an arduous investigation into the Estepona stabbing, Spanish police identified the detainee who had gone to great lengths to avoid detection and had no known address.
On May 24, the influencer was eventaully arrested at a hotel in Mijas, Malaga and detectives discovered he had been arrested for stabbing a man with a broken bottle at a party in Marbella last year.
