ARCHIVED - Autopsy of former Qatari princess who died in Marbella proves inconclusive
The lifeless body of Kasia Gallanio was discovered in her Marbella home last Saturday
The autopsy carried out on the ex-wife of the uncle of the emir of Qatar, who was found dead in her Marbella home on Saturday May 28, has been ruled inconclusive. Sources close to the investigation reported this week that further analysis will need to be carried out to establish the cause of death of 46-year-old Kasia Gallanio.
The former princess had been staying in her home in Malaga after losing custody of her three daughters following a decade-long court battle against her ex-husband, Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Early reports indicated that Ms Gallanio was suffering from mental health difficulties and alcohol addiction and may have died from an overdose.
National Police officers entered the woman’s house at around 8am last Saturday after being alerted by one of Ms Gallanio’s daughters, who lives in Paris, claiming that she had been unable to get in contact with her mother for several days.
When the agents and the doorman entered the building they found the former princess dead on her bed, with no outward signs of violence.
Ms Gallanio reportedly spent several months hospitalised last year and had suffered many mental breakdowns in the past.
