ARCHIVED - Spain launches search for 10 most wanted fugitives
Many of the highly dangerous criminals could be hiding out in Spain

The National Police has launched a campaign to locate ten dangerous fugitives, some of whom have been on the run for 15 years, who could be hiding out in Spain. Officials have released detailed descriptions and profiles of the wanted men and women in the hope that citizen collaboration will lead to their capture.
This year, the National Police in Spain is chairing the European Network of Active Fugitive Search Teams (ENFAST), which is made up of officers from the 27 member states of the EU, along with other nations such as the US, Switzerland and Norway.
The Network has proven to be very effective, leading to the arrests of 417 fugitives last year; since 2017, some 2,272 national and international criminals have been picked up.
The authorities have set up a dedicated email address (losmasbuscados@policia.es) so that citizens who have any information that could lead to their location can report to the police and in addition, any information about their whereabouts can be communicated by calling 091.
Of the ten wanted criminals in this campaign, just one is a woman. Viviana Andrea Vallejo Gutiérrez trafficked countless women to Spain, where she forced them to work as prostitutes to work off their death. She established several brothels and drug smuggling bases in the country and officials have described her as lacking in any human empathy. She is now considered a highly dangerous international criminal.
