April 17 Free gifts for blood donors in Águilas The 5th edition of the annual “Donar Sangre Por Amor Al Arte” blood donation event in Águilas is being held this year on 17^th April between 17.00 and 21.00 at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena on the seafront at Playa de las Declicias, with all those giving blood receiving an array of free gifts in recognition of their contribution.

This time round the gifts are a cotton bag, a print of the painting “Los Cocedores” by Araceli Reverte, a free boat trip for two on board the “Don Pancho” and tickets for two to the cinema of Multicines Hornillo – not bad for simply lying or sitting comfortably for half an hour or so!

Those wishing to donate are advised to pre-book their time slot online here (although there may be room for extra unbooked donors on the day).

Aguilas Tourist Office Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)

Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.

The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
