Confession call leads to Benidorm arrest after British tourist found dead
Suspicion and shock in a holiday hotspot after tragic apartment incident

Local police rushed to the Rincón de Loix building, a spot popular with British visitors, and found the victim’s lifeless body inside. After a brief investigation at the scene, where officers sealed the cord for forensic evidence, the Policia Nacional took charge, arresting the 64-year-old British woman who made the confession. She was taken to the Alicante Provincial Police Station for questioning, while forensic teams prepared for an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
News of the crime quickly spread, surprising both residents and holidaymakers who associate Benidorm’s bustling Rincón de Loix area with relaxation rather than tragedy. Police continue to investigate, seeking witness statements and reviewing security camera footage to piece together the night’s events. Although it is thought that an argument may have escalated violently, no further details have been shared about the relationship or motive.
The British Consulate has stepped in to offer support to both families during this difficult time. Authorities have said that a “woman has been arrested on suspicion of killing another 66-year-old woman, both from the UK,” with the investigation still ongoing.
