ARCHIVED - Finnish man arrested in Torrevieja for dismembering his partner
The woman’s body parts were found scattered throughout several bins in the Alicante city
A 70-year-old Finnish man has been arrested in Torrevieja for murdering and dismembering his 68-year-old partner after parts of her body were discovered in several containers.
At approximately 1.30pm on Thursday October 28, a homeless man rummaging through a rubbish bin in the Aguas Nuevas area discovered part of the corpse and immediately notified the local police, who cordoned off the street. When the Guardia Civil arrived, several other body parts were uncovered in a separate container.
Officers spent hours searching the apartment of the couple and have deemed it a crime of gender violence, although no previous complaints had been lodged by either the victim or her murderer.
