The weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for the Region of Murcia this week is for mostly sunny, clear skies and rising temperatures, with some brief periods of additional cloudiness and ‘calima’.

 

For Monday June 9, Aemet forecasts “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of high clouds” and “do not rule out isolated showers” and thunderstorms in the far northwestern sierras, right on the border where Murcia’s mountains meet the provinces of Jaén and Albacete. are not ruled out, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms, which are both on yellow alert for storm risk all afternoon.

 

 

Tuesday 10 brings more “cloudy skies, with a predominance of medium and high clouds” and some calima dust hanging around in the air, to boot. Minimum temperatures will be unchanged but maximums will begin to rise. Aemet also notes there will be “moderate easterly winds on the coast [of 15-20 kmh]; light variable winds inland, tending to moderate easterly in the central hours”.

 

 

Wednesday 11 looks set to be the cloudiest day of the week, with more “dust in suspension” and even “occasional showers not ruled out”. All the same, temperatures will continue to rise, especially at night-time when it will be around 19-21ºC at the coldest point of the night.

 

 

Thursday 12 will be far less cloudy, with Aemet promising “clear skies” and continuing high temperatures, up to 27-30ºC along the coast and 33-35ºC inland at the hottest part of the day, which is around 4pm. Windspeeds will remain “light… tending to moderate easterly in the central hours”.
