ARCHIVED - Public swimming pool to reopen in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca June 28
The municipal pool in the Marina Baixa, Alicante province, will be used for summer classes in the morning and open to the public in the afternoon.
Benidorm will make a splash on Monday, June 28, with the reopening of Foietes public outdoor pool at the Guillermo Amor sports complex.
The facilities will remain open every day until October, from 12 noon until 8pm, with summer classes in the morning until August 20 and public swimming from 2pm.
Over the last few weeks, the council has been carrying out "small repairs and adjustments", to ensure bathers can exercise or cool off in the "best possible conditions". And a strict cleaning and disinfection program will also be carried out on a daily basis.
Entry costs €1 for children and €2 for adults, with free access for anybody who has a sports centre membership.
For those who prefer the beach, Benidorm has hired 58 'tourist informants' to offer assistance, monitor compliance of Covid measures and help safeguard its famous coastline this summer ahead of a much-anticipated influx of both national and international holidaymakers.
