Road closures in Calblanque Regional Park all this week

Until the end of May, there will be restrictions on local roads due to roadworks

From today, Monday May 19, 2025, roadworks begin to improve the infrastructure for public use in the Regional Park of Calblanque, Monte de las Cenizas and Peña del Águila, meaning there will be several days of road closures in this area near Cabo de Palos.

According to the organisation Espacios Naturales Protegidos de la Región de Murcia, “These actions will affect the accesses temporarily and progressively in the East Sector (Calblanque, Arturo and Magre beaches)... and the West Sector (downhill to El Atochar car park and La Jordana road).”

In the East Sector, access roads will be closed from Monday 19 until Sunday May 25, and only “authorised vehicles” will be allowed access.

In the West Sector, cars will be allowed between Monday May 26 and Friday 30, but “heavy vehicles such as lorries and buses” will not. Even so, extreme caution is recommended for all vehicles during this period.

“These works are aimed at improving the safety and public use of this protected natural area, contributing to its conservation and a better experience for visitors,” concluded sources responsible for the Region of Murcia’s Natural Spaces.
