14-day incidence rate in Andalucía since March 2020
The incidence rate of Covid-19 in Andalucía has continued to drop according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health today, the fourth day in a row that it has fallen. The rate is now 1,454.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, less than half what it was in Spain according to the most recent data available, which is from yesterday.
New infections
In the last day, 14,002 new cases of coronavirus were diagnosed in Andalucía, up from 11,177 yesterday and 11,565 the day before, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,113,534.
Cumulative incidence rate
The 14-day cumulative incidence rate of Covid-19 has, on the other hand, continued its downward trend this Friday for the fourth consecutive day, and now stands at 1,454.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 34 points less than yesterday and 106 points less than on Wednesday.
The province with the highest incidence rate is Almería with 2,167.3, and the one with the lowest rate is Sevilla with 1,036.9.
This overall data for the region means that the Andalusian rate is practically half that of the national rate in Spain, which yesterday stood at 3,156.
Hospitalisations
In the last week, 769 people have had to be hospitalised with coronavirus in Andalucía, 36 of whom went to the ICU.
Deaths
A further 18 deaths have been recorded in Andalucía in the last 24 hours, which is actually down from the last three days.
Vaccinations
The vaccination programme continues at full tilt, with 87.5% of the population over the age of 5 in Andalucía – a total of 7,406,350 people – having received at least one coronavirus shot. In fact, more than half children between 5 and 11 years old in the region have now received their first vaccine.
