HELP Murcia Mar Menor supports Camposol charity with €2,000 donation
HELP Murcia Mar Menor continues its long-standing work supporting communities across the Region of Murcia

A long-running expat charity in the Region of Murcia has continued its support for local community services with a donation to a Camposol-based day care group.
HELP Murcia Mar Menor, which has been operating since 2002, is funded entirely through donations and fundraising events and has spent more than two decades supporting people in need across the region. Volunteers say the organisation remains as active as ever, with new community initiatives and ongoing support projects continuing throughout the year.
As part of its latest round of community work, volunteers Debbie, Paul, Chris and Alan recently visited Camposol to meet the team behind Forget Me Not, a small charity providing day care and respite support for local residents.
They were welcomed by volunteers Diane and Helen, who gave a tour of the centre and explained the work carried out during the weekly sessions. The service runs every Monday and Thursday morning and supports people living with a range of health conditions, including dementia, as well as those who simply need company and social interaction.Located at Camposol Cultural Centre, Sector B, Forget Me Not is open from 10am-1.15pm.
A qualified nurse is present at every session, and attendees are also provided with a hot meal. Alongside this, the centre offers activities such as arts and crafts, games and occasional entertainment to help create a relaxed and supportive environment.
HELP Murcia Mar Menor has donated €1,000 to Forget Me Not, with a further €1,000 scheduled for December. Volunteers praised the service provided at the centre, describing it as an important lifeline for many families in the local community.
Special thanks were also given to Judith, who created and donated a handmade twiddle blanket for the group, which will be used by attendees at the centre. In addition, HELP Murcia Mar Menor has confirmed that its Coffee & Company events will now pause for the summer months. The next gathering will take place on Tuesday September 8 at 11am at the Bar-Restaurante Las Claras del Mar Menor.
These events are a popular monthly meeting point for supporters and anyone interested in the charity’s work, offering a chance to catch up over coffee while raising awareness and funds for local causes.
Anyone wishing to support HELP Murcia Mar Menor can visit their office in Los Alcázares or drop into their charity outlet on Avenida de la Unión 57 in San Javier, where volunteers are available to provide information and explain how donations and fundraising are used.
The outlet is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 1.30pm, with deliveries and collections available on Wednesdays and Thursdays by prior arrangement.
