Over 500 British tourists evacuated and two injured after hotel fire in Magaluf
Two people were injured as over 500 guests fled the late-night blaze in Mallorca

The blaze started shortly after midnight in the laundry room of the Vistasol Apartments complex. Although the fire itself was quickly contained, thick smoke spread through part of the building, prompting hotel staff to activate emergency protocols and evacuate all 530 guests from 173 rooms.
Emergency crews from Calvià’s fire station, along with officers from the Local Police and Civil Guard, arrived swiftly and helped evacuate the premises. Firefighters worked until around 3am to extinguish the flames and ventilate the building. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the guest accommodation areas, and no one required treatment for smoke inhalation.
Two guests sustained minor injuries – reportedly bruises from falls during the chaotic evacuation – and were taken to a clinic in Palma. They were discharged shortly after receiving treatment. The nationality of the injured has not been disclosed.
Guests were allowed to return to their rooms approximately three hours later, once the fire was fully extinguished and the building deemed safe. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This incident follows a string of recent fires at tourist accommodations in the Balearics. Last week, 150 people were evacuated from apartments in Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza, and earlier, a blaze in central Ibiza caused significant damage to several restaurants. In that case, two people were later arrested in Valencia as they attempted to leave the island.
In addition, there was a false fire scare on a Ryanair plane in Mallorca just three days ago that also left several people injured in the mad struggle to escape.
Authorities have confirmed that the latest fire in Magaluf was limited to the service area and that the hotel has now returned to normal operations.
