Two women injured in Lo Pagán bar explosion die in hospital
San Pedro del Pinatar mourns the victims of the suspected arson at Casa Javi bar with a minute’s silence

Both victims had been in serious condition at the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia since the blast on June 19, which investigators now believe may have been deliberately caused. One was a 56-year-old Dutch passerby shopping at the nearby street market, who sustained severe head injuries.
The other victim was the 38-year-old Moroccan manager of the bar, named as ‘Hind’, who suffered extensive burns and who investigators were hoping would wake up so they could shed light on the cause of the incident, which they believe may have been caused by a cut gas pipe.
San Pedro del Pinatar Town Hall expressed its grief in an official statement: “From the Town Council of San Pedro del Pinatar, we want to express our sincere condolences for the death of the two people who were seriously injured in the deflagration that occurred in Lo Pagan on June 19.
“We sympathise with the deep sorrow of their families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
The investigation into the cause of the explosion remains ongoing.
